Arizona New Teacher Induction Network

One Team. One Purpose. Better Outcomes for Every New Teacher and Learner. 

Strong induction programs don't happen by chance. They are built through intentional leadership, strategic collaboration, and a shared commitment to educator success. The Arizona New Teacher Induction Network (AZNTIN) is designed for district and school teams ready to strengthen their induction and mentoring systems and create the conditions for new teachers to thrive. Participants will engage with proven practices, innovative strategies, and a statewide network of colleagues dedicated to improving teacher retention, accelerating professional growth, and increasing student success, all integrated with the State 48 Graduate Profile and Center-created State 48 Educator Profile.

District teams will participate in a two-day fall session, a one-day winter session, and a one-day spring session focused on building the capacity, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of induction programs. Together, teams will examine best practices, explore multi-tiered supports for new teachers, and develop actionable plans tailored to their local context. Each district is required to register a two-person team that includes the program director and one additional team member, although teams of up to four participants are strongly encouraged to maximize learning, collaboration, and implementation. Districts that register at least one principal or assistant principal as part of their AZNTIN team unlock Principal Virtual Sessions access for their district. Once this requirement is met, any principal and/or assistant principal employed by that district may attend the three Principal Virtual Sessions, whether or not they are part of the registered AZNTIN team.

New this year: As part of the network experience, principals and assistant principals are invited to join the Principal Virtual Sessions: Leading Future-Ready Schools. This three-part leadership series integrated with Arizona New Teaching Induction Network focuses on the leadership actions, coaching conversations, and culture-building practices that help new teachers succeed and stay in the profession. Participants will explore how effective school leaders cultivate trust, provide meaningful feedback, and create environments where both educators and students can excel.

The Principal Virtual Sessions are an extension of the Arizona New Teacher Induction Network and feature content specifically designed for school leaders. When a district includes at least one principal or assistant principal on its AZNTIN team, all principals and assistant principals in that district are eligible to participate in the three Principal Virtual Sessions, regardless of whether they are members of the registered AZNTIN team.

Both the Principal Virtual Sessions and the Arizona New Teacher Induction Network will be facilitated by Melissa Lambert, an experienced leader in educator development and induction systems, and Dr. Nancy Uxa, a veteran educator with more than four decades of experience as a teacher, counselor, principal, executive director, and chief of learning and leadership. Together, they bring deep expertise in induction, school leadership, mentoring, and systems change to support district teams in creating meaningful and measurable improvements.
